Also, I betcha Kacey will have one of those toys. Or she's ordering one now.

Also, if you could spare Kasey, that'd be super awesome too. I'm not done torturing Roseanna.

Re: Kasey and Truman!
So many things to respond to!
Maybe that's one reason why I like Vampire. I'm sort of a PVPer, though I tend to prefer playing comprimised characters that are easy targets (Blind Toreador? And no one's tried to kill me in over 8 months? Time to make some more enemies). Right now, I can't get into a fight in HA to save my character (McDonalds? On a caern? No way that's not Wyrm tainted *nom nom nom nothing happens*) Part of this is also on me, and having a work schedule that makes me be at work on games where big fight scenes occur.
The Technocrat attacks were player driven? Or do you mean that plots always affect players, and don't exist just for any random passerby to stumble into? Not speaking bad about CBN, but this probably isn't the proper place for discussing CBN and it's philosophies on game vs org games.
My backstory got a little messed up due to joining the org. I haven't revised it. I'm not concerned. It was more of a definition of what my character was upon walking into the game rather than the first half of a plot. It can most certainly function as a lead-in into a personal plotline, but I don't need it to get resolved. I am not certain if this is the 'best' way to treat a backstory or not.
Possibly the best summary of this theory on multiplayer gaming I've seen. Also, see my note about about Vamp. The article plays into that as well.

CBN is it's own entity. Keep that in mind. We don't introduce plot that isn't player driven. Not a lot of games do that. CBN is also a troupe game, so it's in it's own world. If a PC wants to nuke LA...as long as they have the proper resources, they can do it.

meh I feel like I'm the only one who likes Vampire more too. With Garou, if you aren't in the right group, your backstory gets ignored and you sit around on a couch all game doing nothing. Least with Vampire there's always excitement and something to keep you on your toes.

I feel that, in the end, it's not the genre, and it's not troupe vs. org that determines what makes a game fun. It comes down to the group of people you're playing with, and how you're interacting with that group.

Much as in real life, fights aren't waiting around every corner. Someone in need of Glory can't just step on the 'business' side of the edge of the bawn and get it done. This isn't an old NES RPG where walking around outside of town will net you random encounters at your leisure.Opens The Cage wrote:Maybe that's one reason why I like Vampire. It's the opinion of this ST crew that randomly providing chippy-choppies empowers people who want chippy-choppies over people who are more interested in a conflict being related to a story. I'll advise now that there hasn't been a single session of HA without at least one person taking damage from something, but they always know where it came from and why.
Want to get in a fight? Ask the Alpha Ahroun or the Wyrmfoe. I bet (s)he could direct OtC to one that has to do with one of the currently running storylines.

Hrm.
Since I am hated, this is grounds for the chain to be released.
Open Season starts on 05-07-11. One cheesy item card per Character of Nick's that dies all permanent like in Heartland Alliance.
