So much crazy stuff happens around here, I couldn't even begin to imagine what he is talking about. Context?

Yeah, Truman and I used to be pretty involved in vampire with our Brujah and interacted with him frequently.

Eh, I played Anton Zakharov. I remember meeting Zio! during the Conclave years ago. I don't want to disparage those who still enjoy One World Vampire, I'll just say I really try to avoid getting back into it. Werewolf is my baby nowadays.

I enjoy Werewolf more than Vampire. Though the whole org is my bane right now. Hence why I quit everything.

Am I the only person here that likes Vamp more than Garou?

I played Bianca Davenport. :-) I definitely prefer Garou over Vampire. The PvP was just too chesty and nasty. There wasn't enough roleplay once you got past a certain amount of points.

Whee! I remember Bianca!
And yes and no. You have to find the right environments but generally I agree.

Yeah...when I started playing Garou I mentioned it to Joe and all he did was bash it. He kept saying that Garou was for people who couldn't "cut it" in vampire.
Not his finest moment.

Personally, I enjoy both genres, but each for their own separate reasons. Sometimes, I don't mind being all "Plot against everyone else, we're a coterie, blah blah blah". Other times, I want to actually work with others and accomplish something together.

Hey, I know a thing or two about saying things that are a little inflammatory.
Of course, that was mostly on Council...

meh I feel like I'm the only one who likes Vampire more too. With Garou, if you aren't in the right group, your backstory gets ignored and you sit around on a couch all game doing nothing. Least with Vampire there's always excitement and something to keep you on your toes.
Vampire is more player driven. I feel like half of the time without an ST in garou, I do nothing but sit and wait for nothing to happen.

CBN is it's own entity. Keep that in mind. We don't introduce plot that isn't player driven. Not a lot of games do that. CBN is also a troupe game, so it's in it's own world. If a PC wants to nuke LA...as long as they have the proper resources, they can do it.

Apologies for you feeling this way, Amanda. Feel free to engage in interaction with other PCs to avoid couch-time. If your backstory isn't being brought into play swiftly enough, I recommend revising your expectations.
Only you can prevent couch riding.

Re: Kasey and Truman!
I feel that, in the end, it's not the genre, and it's not troupe vs. org that determines what makes a game fun. It comes down to the group of people you're playing with, and how you're interacting with that group.
Yes, you can drive your own plots, and yes, you can build up a reputation for your PC that meets with your expectations. As a general rule, however, I feel that a game (and the characters in it) should have organic development. If, as a player, I have to shoehorn something I want into a game I play in because it won't develop on its own, that feeling of forcing things will stay there, detracting from the enjoyment of the game.
Unfortunately, that means that sometimes you have to decide between waiting around for a development to naturally occur (and not having a ton of fun in the meantime) or forcing it to happen when it's not supposed to yet (or ever), which has its own drawbacks.

Re: Kasey and Truman!
Okay, so...yeah, screw it I'm going to go on a soapbox for a second.
*grabs a soapbox and stands on it*
See, I like personal interaction. It is, for me, the reason we LARP. The reason I am playing on these boards and not in the Iowa game is because I was flat out told that my PC incited too much personal plot and the focus wasn't enough on fighting the Wyrm. Part of that was because as my last few characters I did not get involved in combat and so I would encourage the other couch riders to roleplay and it turned into AMAZING plot.
....think about that. "You're taking people away from combat and that's not what this game is about". In fact, the boards are barely tolerated by the ST staff of that game and visitors are made to feel EXTREMELY unwelcome, both IC and OOC.
Now, that's not to say that game's all bad. People enjoy playing it and that's awesome. But for me roleplaying involves playing a role - and that includes plot. In fact, all of my characters have "plot bombs" built in (which reminds me - STs - I owe you an email tonight) because I like the personal plot. And if the only way I can do that is on a forum with people I don't know, so be it.
Anyway, I've had a blast playing with you all. Honestly, it's exactly the type of game I was looking for. But yeah, if you're riding a couch just say "fuck it" and strike up a conversation or do a "me and my pack go to blow off some steam at a bar" scene or something like that. That's what Narrators live for.
So yeah, TL;DR version - have fun with the game.

Word.
Personally, I hate each and every storyteller in the state of Ohio. Except Justin. I'd straight up cut a bitch for that man.
