Re: Essence and Lexaea
I thought Essence was awesome, but that was the hands-down, most epically tragic of World of Darkness endings I've ever seen. As an ST and a PC. Brilliant story and I cannot wait to see what you make next. I really hope I see you guys next Heartland.
Re: Essence and Lexaea
That was friggin' brilliant! Most epic way to go out! Hope you'll have another character in Heartland.

Silly question, did Essence have any defining jewelry or items?

At the time he died, Essence had nothing of his own, the clothes he had were borrowed and disintegrated in the fight.

Too soon! Lol. I'm actually waiting for someone to take the hardcore fanatical stance and suggest it was Gaia's punishment for them mating.

That was Autumn's first thought but she never voiced it!
Nick, PML asks you to talk to sundancer to see if a scrap of his clothing might help to obtain more information!

His medical bag was actually in the car.
Also, I heard this for the first time today on the way home:

^ LIKES
I approve, sir! Considering i played Lex, knew the history...it made me tear up, too. Don't feel bad. They're a great story, all WOD, love dies, hope dies, everything dies go eat wyrms.
I'm just twisted for enjoying this.

Re: Essence and Lexaea
That song is a reference to "The Lady of Shallot" by Tennyson.
Stuck it in the Anselm/Cadence play list the first time I heard it because of that. The poem itself is about a woman stuck in a tower who she cannot look on the outside world because of a curse. Instead she has to look out of the window through a mirror. One day Lancelot passes under her window and she looks out at him, the curse strikes and she ends up dead.

Cool! Thanks for explaining that reference, Chris. It was just a really pretty song, but now it makes even more sense.

Re: Essence and Lexaea
Actually the Lady of Shallot looks out and decides to stop weaving her magic web and decides to leave her castle, which brings about her curse. She finds a boat, carves her name on it, and floats down the river to Camelot. She dies before she arrives. It's a really beautiful poem, well, poems, since he wrote two versions of it.

Re: Essence and Lexaea
Interesting interpretation.
The curse causes the mirror to break and the tapestry to unravel. I don't read a decision in any of it other than the decision to look out at Lancelot. It's supposed to be your standard Rapunzel/Sleeping Beauty deal wherein a cursed maiden is put into a tower. I also don't read a direct instance of her actually weaving a spell... simply that the farmers nearby always thought she was a fairy.
Wait... this is an RP forum, so if there is intellectual discussion...

As an English teacher I want to gladly enjoy in the spirited debate about a skilled author and his many possible interpretations.
As the person who has never enjoyed Tennyson, however, I encourage you all to read Keats.
