Aside From Background Stories

I am thinking of putting up another way to obtain build points. It won't allow you to exceed the Org. maximum. It will, however, be geared towards character build and insight into history.

It'll be like the CbN Questionnaire that used to be circulated. However expanded to maybe 100 questions Max. Worth 5-10 points. Something like that.

Note - This wouldn't be able to circumvent the need for a background story for R&U proposals.

I have a question sheet that I used when I started Black Hawk County by Night, if you'd like to mine it for ideas.

It's build for vampire characters but can easily be adapted.

That questionaire would be before my time at CBN, so I'm not sure of the original size. 100 questions sounds like a lot, but I like the idea.

I used two different questionnaires used by writers when putting together characters for a book. I found them very helpful and gave the answers to the STs. If you're interested in those questions let me know and I can email them to you.

I've filled out something like this before though not for CbN and not quite that many questions. I like the idea, and it definitely gives potential for better direction with our characters. I say go for it.

Although, considering HA growing numbers, wouldn't reading through a hundred questions per character be a little excessive in terms of the work load you'd be setting yourself up for? (Not that I would love answering a hundred questions regarding Autumn.) You did say 100 max, but it's just a thought to consider.

1. Yes - if you have examples of what you use, I would love to see it! Send it on to my ST addy and I will tinker.

2. Yes - it was probably before your time in CbN. The Blue Sheets! were fun for that extra 2 pt boost at character creation.

3. Yes - 100 questions per character submission is a lot to go through. However knowing the characters within the game is also important. If you're going to provide a personalized story it only helps though. Nothing like having a file on each character after all.

This totally impresses me. I am all for this. 100 questions might be too much, though. Although, I wanna see what questions you do come up with.

I'm all for this. Especially since my work schedule sometimes limits my ability to make HA--- it's another good way to get the monthly exp total, even if it's a one shot. Thumbs up.

Also, love that this will further help develop a backstory, tie up loose ends, etc.

I'd love a questionnaire for character development to allow STs to get a greater insight into characters. That's freakin' fantastic. And, I will be honest, I will very likely steal anything that's come up with and adapt it for my own game. I swear, getting people to post on forums for my game is like pulling teeth. They don't understand how much like crack forum posting is...

Man, with all the forum writing I've been doing lately, and with work being absolutely friggin' ridiculous, and with my trying to get other things in my life in order, and with me starting to look at places in Cleveland to move into, and with me trying to figure out how to find another job to keep me busy for the next year so I can get out of Domino's and still save up money to move on schedule, and with me trying to run a game here... my brain's all splodey...
