Anathem is probably my favorite book ever. It's also crazy dense, and in 3 separate parts run through a mathematical proof on science stuff, like how to plot a satellite's orbit on a chalkboard in the easiest way possible.

Yeah, I thought it was and then I saw it wasn't. No idea what show I was thinking of.
