Spring Moot!!!

Post by Starrie on Mon Mar 14, 2011 4:53 am

Hi everybody!!!!!
It really is that time of year despite what it looks like outside so we're gonna have us a Spring Moot! According to our STs it will be next game which is March 26th. Just like last time we are going for lots of good eats. So far the following people have volunteered (or been volunteered Very Happy) to bring the following:

South-Brisket
Jonah and Marie-Southwest stew
Chrystal and Patrick-Fried chicken
Kasey and Truman-Potato salad
Anya and Justin-Russet potatoes and cornbread
Matt-Spinach dip

If I got this wrong please forgive me and let us know what you would prefer to bring. We could use some more sides, and desserts. Veggies and dip are never frowned on nor are chips. We will need plates, napkins, silverware, bowls for the stew, cups and drinks. Please let us know what you're bringing so that we make sure that we have the paper products covered at the very least.

Thank you all!!!-Chrystal

P.S.- Please also keep in mind that we only have two Gaillards (unless Mark plays Haiket) so you might want to send them the info you want told at moot as soon as possible to give them time to work their magic. Those two characters are Misha and Erica played by Anya and Marie respectively. Thanks!

Sooo, while I want to be awesome and make stuff, this week is going to be a horror for me. Can anyone else take over the cooking of the stuff and just let me bring something that can be picked up at a store? I know, I'm lame. I'll totally make up for it next moot!

So....it's looking like we will be getting at least 4 (?) people frm out of state this Saturday. I won't expect them to bring anything since bringing stuff via roadtrip is a huge in the the rear end. That being said, please make sure if you are bringing things that you are planning for more people. Yay!!

Anya I can take care of the cornbread and potatoes not to worry. I'm also making chocolate PB and J cupcakes-strawberry curd filled chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter frosting. If you want to hit the deli and grab some macaroni salad or some cole slaw that would be great. I think everyone here understands having a bad week. hugs sweetie!

@Amber- Gumbo and southern potato salad for summer moot? shouldn't be a problem. summer moot is more than likely going to be a BBQ but we got some months before that so no worries.

@Kasey-I adjusted my quantites assuming we were going to get at least 6 more people from out of state.

Can't wait to see everybody!-Chrystal

we'll see. Cass' b-day dinner is the same day as moot and she has asked for tappas. I'm making 6 different ones including chicken with cumin and cream in pastry shells, fried spinach, and garlicky beef on crostini with sage cream. Oh and I'm making her a german chocolate cake since she really likes it. The next few days my kitchen is going to be a mess but I'm going to be one happy cook/baker. Let's just hope everything turns out tasty.

Thank you Chrystal! *Hugs* I'll pick up stuff. I think Justin is threatening to bring like a bazillion pounds of bacon.

One more final.
One dentist visit.
One MRI.
Then the weekend can be here?

Because we pretend to be werewolves, duh. :-p

It is proven by science that all werewolves like bacon.

I think the answer has been summed out rather well. Why not?

Yo, in light of visitors and all that jazz showing up (and also for ease of cooking) the menu is changing.

I can't afford that much of expensive beef cuts, so the dish is changed to a pork dish. If you require kosher, I can only say that I am sorry that you can't eat it.

If someone wants to bring white bread or some sort of buns that would be great... if not, your pulled BBQ pork will be in simple bowls.

I picked up two dozen hamburger buns that I will bring along with the utensils and dishes.

I'm thinking about making some Guac and Pesto Gnocchi. The only problem being, is that the Gnocchi would be in my fridge overnight, and therefore cold.
